“She is Well and Alive”
Last night, The Academy Awards Ceremony was held in the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, and was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. The most memorable moment of the night was the biggest error ever made in Oscars’ history, by announcing ‘La La Land’ winner for Best Picture instead of actual winner ‘Moonlight’.
Mistakenly announcing the wrong film for Best Picture wasn’t the only error in the 89th Oscars Ceremony. In Memoriam montage, which pays tributes to Filmmakers and Film Industry workers who have died in the past year, instead of using Janet Patterson (Costume Designer, who died in October), Jan Chapman’s photo was used alongside Patterson’s name on the montage.
On the matter Jan Chapman said:
“I was devastated by the use of my image in place of my great friend and long-time collaborator Janet Patterson. I had urged her agency to check any photograph which might be used and understand that they were told that the Academy had it covered. Janet was a great beauty and four-time Oscar nominee and it is very disappointing that the error was not picked up. I am alive and well and an active producer.”
