Spider-Man: Homecoming, War for the Planet of the Apes or Dunkirk?

Box Office Predictions: War for the Planet of the Apes is the third movie of the Planet of the Apes Trilogy. The franchise is considered one of the few blockbusters to reach both critical and box office expectations. The movie is expected to be one of the best movies this summer, but it will have a tough competition at the box office.

War for the Planet of the Apes is opening just one week after Spider-Man: Homecoming (Expected to start with $135 Million on the first weekend), and one week before Dunkirk, one of the most anticipated movies this year directed by Christopher Nolan.

With previous foundation built by the first two movies, and with Andy Serkis’s captivating performance, War for the Planet of the Apes, is expected to get its share of tickets. From early predictions, the movie will start with $54 Million on the first weekend, to reach $150 Million domestically, and more than $600 Million globally. It could even reach $675 Million as predicted by Moviepilot.

War for the Planet of the Apes opens July 14, 2017. It stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Judy Greer, Karin Konoval, Amiah Miller and Terry Notary.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes: August 5, 2011.
