“The Lady May Get a Dragon Tattoo”
The British actress, Claire Foy, known for her role in the TV series The Crown by Netflix is now the top choice to Play Lisbeth Salander in The Girl in the Spider’s Web, next adaptation to the big screen of Millennium Series books.
Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson were among the actresses rumored to be considered for the role. But according to Variety, Claire Foy is now the frontrunner for the role and highly considered by Sony who met a dozen actresses to succeed Rooney Mara and Noomi Rapace in the skin of the famous hacker.

The Girl in the Spider’s Web, by David Lagercrantz, will be adapted on screen with a new cast, and directed by Fede Alvarez, (Don’t Breathe), from a screenplay by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu.
The production will begin next September, and the movie is set to hit theaters October 5, 2018.

The first movie of the franchise was released in 2011, directed by David Fincher with Rooney Mara as ‘Lisbeth Salander‘ and Daniel Craig as ‘Mikael Blomkvist’. The movie got 5 Academy Award nominations including Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for Rooney Mara and won one trophy for Best Achievement in Film Editing.
At the Box Office, the movie earned $102 Million domestically, and $232 worldwide with $90 Million budget.
